AICL, our in-house underwriting business, is at a key point in its growth plan, and your work as our new Actuarial Analyst will contribute to helping build, manage, and improve regular processes which typically require the use of specialist actuarial software packages.
Reporting to the Reserving Actuary, you will work closely with the immediate actuarial team of 7. You’ll have exposure to a range of actuarial disciplines such as claims reserving, capital modelling and reinsurance evaluation learning from industry experts. You will grow professionally in Saga with actuarial exam support as well as internal training on actuarial topics of your interest. Being a technical expert, you will combine your investigative and communicative skills to interact with stakeholders across the business such as pricing or claims team.

Role Responsibility
As an Actuarial Analyst you will collaborate across the Saga business where required, contributing actuarial expertise and knowledge to bespoke projects
Other accountabilities will include:
- Contributing to the yearly reinsurance program renewal process – including managing the production of supporting information
- Identifying, explaining and monitoring experience trends
- Contribute to all 3 pillars of Solvency II requirements (quarterly and annual quantitative reporting templates, ORSA, SFCR, RSR, Actuarial Function Report (AFR)) as well as to the regular reserving exercise
- Adhering to Technical and Actuarial practice standards (TAS and APS)
- Adhering to governance processes for financial reporting purposes.
- Maintaining and developing transparency and documentation around the actuarial team process.
- Collaborating with legal and DPO to ensure data transfer to and from third parties is compliant with governance processes, GDPR and DPA, and follow ICO best practice
- Preparing claims and policy data for regular market benchmarking exercises.

Technical Skills include
- Strong numerical and statistical capabilities.
- Comfortable working with large amounts of data.
- Experience in ResQ and SQL is a plus.
