Overview
Passionate about bricklaying and other aspects of building. The successful candidate will need to be physically fit and have plenty of stamina for this demanding role, which will involve working indoors and outdoors. As part of the apprenticeship you will be studying a L2 in Bricklaying which will include both theory and practical work with one of Redrows chosen training partners.

Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace

Set out and build brickwork, including complex arches and surrounding brickwork, curved on plan, concave and convex brickwork and battered brickwork.

Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer

Laying the bricks on top of each other and applying the mortar with a trowel

Shape and trim bricks/blocks using hammers, chisels and power tools. Use of laser levels, spirit levels, optical levels and string lines to check that courses are straight, horizontally and vertically, and laid to a gauge.
