Position: Assistant Head (SEMH school)
Location: Newmarket, Suffolk
Hours: 40 hours per week, term time
Salary Details: £38,000 per annum

Cambian Dunbroch school is looking to appoint a Assistant head with teaching duties (all subjects considered) to support the school in achieving its vision of providing sound education packages for all pupils. Our aim is to develop secure attachments that build confidence and promote independence across a broad and balanced curriculum that provides appropriate opportunities to meet the needs of each individual pupil.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Headteacher in the overall management of the school, including strategic planning and implementation of school policies.
- Oversee the development and delivery of a tailored curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students.
- Mentor and support teaching staff, providing professional development opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure the well-being and academic progress of all students, implementing effective support strategies and interventions.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
- Ensure the school meets all regulatory requirements and maintains the highest standards of safeguarding.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: QTS
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an SEN setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
- In-depth understanding of SEN best practices and current educational policies.
- Compassionate, resilient, and committed to the ethos of inclusive education.

Who we are:
Cambian Dunbroch School is an independent co-educational day school that caters to students who have ongoing complex Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The school typically caters for up to 22 students aged between 12-18 years of age with a wide range of educational background and needs.
