Commodity Buyer – Derby
We are currently seeking an individual with experience in managing negotiation and supplier relationships to join us as a Strategic Buyer (Spondon/Hybrid)

As a Strategic Buyer you will be at the centre of managing customer requirements for product sourcing within Incora, providing first-class analysis on supplier quotations, ensuring requirements for product pricing, quality and delivery are optimised to meet business needs and targets.
You will be the person looking for risks and opportunities within key vendor contracts, managing projects and sub-commodity strategies to create cost-saving initiatives.
The Strategic Buyer will manage the day-to-day contractual relationship with the vendors to build long-term sourcing relationships. You will ensure we understand and adhere to the customer, contractual, legislative, and quality requirements are matched throughout the sourcing process.
Duties will include:
- Build and maintain the relationships with the Suppliers you are responsible for within your commodity.
- Develop and implement a Commodity or Sub Commodity Strategy.
- Work with existing or develop new supply chains, methodologies and sourcing opportunities, aligned to the Commodity Strategy.
- New Supplier identification, aligned to the Commodity Strategy.
- Deliver annual cost saving initiatives for the commodity and meet the terms of any contractual obligations whilst negotiating Long Term Agreements, to support the agreed commodity strategy
- Deliver Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance for the commodity and associated improvement plans and activities.
- Negotiate/renegotiate long-term agreements with suppliers.
- Governance and Ownership of Long-Term Agreements for assigned Suppliers.
- Preparing requests for quotations, conducting analysis and implementing changes to optimize Total Acquisition Cost in line with the Commodity Strategy.
- Recommend, initiate and conduct changes of suppliers (source change).
- Manage and respond to day-to-day supplier queries i.e: invoice enquiries, pricing etc.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
About You
- Previous experience as a strategic/commodity buyer is ideal
- Proven experience in managing purchasing projects
- Proven experience of contractual & commercial negotiations
- Experience of developing and implementing Commodity Strategies
- Understanding of technical drawings would be preferred
- Ability to forge strong internal and external relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- High analytical skills
