Can you help someone to access the community and social facilities?

We are Sense, a high quality community care service, who are passionate about supporting children and young adults. 

We’re seeking to recruit a great new community support worker / communicator guide on a part time basis working 10 hours per week, we would like someone with the right values and behaviours to work in our bespoke service.

This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to support an individual. Support will start from the individual’s home and is led by the person being supported. Activities may focus on family shopping, assisting with tasks surrounding correspondence in the home. No day of support is the same!

Community Support worker / Communicator Guide is community based and the role requires the staff member to lone work during the week, starting and finishing their day at their home, as opposed to an office. 10 hours of support, and can be flexibly arranged across the week (discussed at interview). Generally, the hours are from Monday -Friday. There may be scope for increasing working hours if desired. You are required to have a valid UK driving licence with the use of your own vehicle.

You don’t need to have previous formal care experience, nor do you need care qualifications. Initial training in communication and guiding (amongst other training offered) will be provided to ensure the successful candidate is confident in supporting individuals with sight and hearing loss – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker / communicator guide, we will provide you with all the training you may require.
