Job Description:

Job Introduction

This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking for a varied role to join the Financial Reporting team of one of the largest Building Societies in the UK. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Leader, the role will work alongside other colleagues in the team to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate management information to the Board to support strategic decision making, and to meet Group regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.

We’ve adapted really well to hybrid working following the pandemic, so although our Head Office is based in Skipton there would not be a requirement for you to be based here full time and we are happy to consider any flexible working requests you may have.

What you'll be doing

Within the role you will be involved in the production of our Group Annual and Interim Financial Statements, production of accurate and timely Group management information for the Board, production of group regulatory returns and the consolidation of the Group’s corporate plan and quarterly financials. You will be expected to maintain a strong control environment within the team’s processes and provide technical and financial accounting support to the Group as required.

What you'll bring

We’re looking for someone who not only has some financial accounting background but someone who will thrive at the opportunity to work in a varied role and has the ability to learn quickly. High attention to detail is key, a curious mind and the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders at different levels. You’ll hold, or be working towards, a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) and experience working in financial services would be highly advantageous although not essential. Within the role you’ll be working in partnership with various business areas, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

We care about our colleagues. So we treat each other like the complex and diverse individuals we are.

Work here is never one-size-fits-all, it flexes around your strengths and needs,

Everyone is held accountable for achieving our common purpose. The aim is for all of us to do better work, have a better life and enjoy a better balance between the two.
