C£90k per annum dependent on skills and experience

Digitally Focused Leader

This is a new role where we are seeking a strategic leader who has a strong background in a digital engineering leadership role, developing teams, guardrails, standards, ways of working to develop and operate digital Products and being a key part of the Digital and Technology Leadership Team.

Your team are on an exciting journey to modernise their tech landscape and innovate the use of new technologies, tools and techniques and you will be able to shape the growth of the digital engineering capability along with your team. Your work will be varied and will bring the organisation forward in its digital ambition, aligning to our customer and colleague expectations.

You will lead the development of a compelling technical approach in Digital Engineering and build out diverse, supportive and an excellence focused engineering culture. You will establish Agile ways of working and define and oversee the implementation and maturing of practices to ensure secure, reliable and operationally sound delivery.

What does it take to be a Head of Digital Engineering?

  • Strong strategic leader

  • Demonstrable experience in a digital engineering leadership role including Cloud, infra, software, data and security engineering – building, running and scaling up full stack engineering capability and teams

  • Hands-on engineering experience, preferably within a complex technology environment

  • Strong experience in major cloud ecosystems – MS, AWS and GCP

  • Certification and skills in MS Azure

  • Evidence of managing internal and externally sourced resources within agreed budget

  • Experience and knowledge of the full development lifecycle and toolsets to include Dev Ops and CI/CD and end to end delivery of software products

  • Certification and experience with Agile methodologies would be desirable
