Overview

Salary:

The Society has a rare opportunity for a Head of Finance Operations and Transformation to join us. Instrumental to driving positive change across our Finance, Treasury and Procurement teams, this is a pivotal role, key to ensuring the process is business-led, creates value and delivers successful outcomes.

The person in post will also be responsible for the overall management and control of the Society’s financial cost performance. Working closely with the Executive Team, they will drive a culture of continuous improvement and cost efficiency across the business, delivering best-in-class insight, reporting and strategic cost planning.

As an experienced and model leader of a large finance function, you will have supported and developed teams towards new ways of operating, inspired commitment, empowered people to deliver and had tough conversations when needed. You will be resilient, outcome focussed and able to build relationships both inside and outside the organisation to ensure best practice change is adopted.

You’ll be skilled at influencing and challenging senior stakeholders – including Executive Teams and the Regulator – and you’ll be a strategic thinker who thrives on problem-solving.

The ability to bring teams together to work collaboratively across the organisation and maintain an engaged and high performing team, will also be within your skillset.

A fully qualified accountant, you will have delivered efficient, end-to-end cost management, forecasting and reporting processes. Accustomed to managing multiple complex projects, your ability to work at pace with resilience and flexibility will be major assets.

As a mutual, we’ve always worked together to improve the lives of others. Now the second largest Building Society in the UK, over 3,000 of us share that goal, in our branches and Head Office. Our benefits go beyond basic pay, with a discretionary bonus scheme, a culture of reward and recognition and total support for our wellbeing.

We’re serious about equality, of race, age, faith, disability and sexual orientation, but also of personality and the way we think. By being yourself, you’ll make us stronger.

You can build so much more than a career. Come and make a difference in our Society, that’s been voted a ‘Great Place to Work’ by our team.
