We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our New Lending team here at Skipton Building Society.

As a Mortgage Administrator you will be providing quality guidance and excellent customer service, processing new mortgage applications and seeing these through to completion. This is a pivotal role in supporting the mortgage journey for our customers and will come with all the training and support you need to be successful.

The team you will be joining, Mortgage Lending, with over 100 colleagues, workingwith Skipton Direct, Solicitors, Customer delivery, The Mail room

Example:

You will be joining the Mortgage Administrator Team, consisting of 3 Specialists and 30 advisors. Working as part of the Mortgage Lending team you will be expected to work towards the departmental plan whilst prioritising workloads and achieving a high standard of work. You will be engaging with many other areas across the business so being able to build and maintain relationships is key.

What Will You Be Doing?

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to start or progress their financial service career for a sector leading lender. As a Mortgage Administrator you will be responsible for chasing outstanding information from Brokers, liaising with Conveyancers and handling all queries relating to mortgage completion.

Working as part of the New Lending team you will be expected to work towards the departmental plan whilst juggling priorities and achieving a high standard or work. You will be engaging with lots of other business areas so being able to build and maintain relationships is key.

Finally, you will be an ambassador for the New Lending Team, contributing to the overall performance of the whole department whilst being happy to accept and provide feedback in a constructive manner. As you develop within the role you will be at the forefront of improving our processes to make the customer journey as good as it can be.

What Do We Need From You?

  • It goes without saying you’ll need to be highly organised and flexible, with the ability to find an alternative when something doesn’t work

  • You’ll be a great talker, an even better listener with an energy and passion for getting things done, whilst building and maintaining great relationships

  • As part of building those great relationships, teamwork is essential so a cohesive approach will be advantageous

  • An ability to stay calm and focused under pressure is essential, and you’ll be the sort of person who doesn’t compromise on quality and accuracy just because there’s a high workload

You don’t have to be a financial services expert but knowledge of the Mortgage product, application process or regulations would be an advantage.
