Passenger Transport – Community Companions

We’re on the lookout for Passenger Assistants in the Wiltshire area to join our casual bank! If you’re all about flexibility and prefer the freedom to work on specific days or cover short-term assignments, this is the role for you.

Passenger Assistants work in conjunction with our drivers, ensuring the well-being, comfort, and safety of vulnerable students during their journeys to and from school. This role can involve the manipulation and clamping of wheelchairs on the vehicle.

We are a close-knit and highly supportive team where everyone supports each other. We work weekdays, at the start and end of the school day, and enjoy the convenience of being picked up and dropped off at our home address.

As a casual worker, you’ll have no fixed hours and will work on an as-needed basis, depending on Wiltshire Council’s requirements and your availability. You are not obligated to be available, and the Council is not obliged to offer you work. Please specify your preferred working hours and availability on the application form.

We firmly believe that to be a Passenger Assistant it’s about being patient, empathetic, and driven by a desire to make a positive impact.

Why us?

Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a ‘One Council’ ethos. That’s why we focus on getting the things that matter to our people right. Explore more benefits here!
