We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to join our friendly team at our Linford Block Plant, working a shift pattern of 24/4, which is located close to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex.  The site is easily accessible from Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet on Thames, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay and the surrounding areas.

Our Linford Plant manufactures sustainable, tough and energy efficient aerated blocks that we see all around us, whether this be in our homes or our work environments, you are never too far away from one of our products.

As the Production Manager you will proactively manage production at Linford by delivering a safe, sustainable and profitable business in ​line with budgetary and strategic targets. Support the Site Manager in the delivery of an effective business plan, whilst maintaining alignment to Product Line initiatives, excellence programmes and standardised processes.

  • Work with members of the Site team and other senior leaders across Building Products to ensure  strategies are supported and embedded across the Site  with particular focus on safety, cost control, profitability, quality, people and customer service.​

  • Manage, measure and improve the area’s Health & Safety performance and comply with H&S policies and procedures achieving zero harm and LTI’s.​

  • Consistently deliver outstanding operating results (including production volumes, cost control and EBITDA),  meet/exceed budgetary targets and drive optimal CAPEX performance​

  • Ensure cost control discipline across the Site​

  • Ensure the effective resolution of all operational issues on site.​

  • Delivery of Quality and Environmental Targets.​

  • Delivery of the Managed Maintenance System.​

  • Delivery of Plant Availability Targets. The Management of Operational KPI’s.​

  • The Optimisation of fixed & variable costs and KPI.​

  • The Management and reduction of complaints ​

  • Operational KPI’s, eg Production targets, stock availability. associated costs.​

  • Ensuring Investment and Capex Projects delivered on time and on budget​

  • Developing operational capability and succession plans within your team​

  • Coaching and Mentoring members of the team and drive a high-performance culture and ensures effective operational succession plans are in place on site​

  • Create a positive work culture where people management is a key priority​

  • Embed and demonstrate Tarmac values in all activities​

  • Ensure compliance to group policies, processes, procedures and tools to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and compliance with SOx requirements

Knowledge:​

  • Previous experience in a similar role​

  • SHE NVQ level 4/ QCF level 6​

  • IOSH / NEBOSH would also be an advantage​​

​Skills:​

  • Ability to operate SAP and manage a P&L account​

  • Good working knowledge of the plants and production capabilities​

  • Ability to lead teams to success

  • Able to build a positive team culture​

  • Tailor communication to relevant individuals​

  • Develops individuals within a team​

  • Is driven to go the extra mile​

  • Addresses underlying needs when required, with a focus on continuous improvement ​

  • Able to solve complex problem
