Position: QUALITY OF EDUCATION LEAD

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Hours: 40 hours per week, term time

Salary Details: Uplift to a current salary of £4,500

Main purpose of the role:

To hold strategic responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the curriculum through rigorous evaluation and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the existing curriculum across all subject areas and stages.
  • Analyse curriculum alignment with national standards, educational best practices, and the school's mission and vision.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of the curriculum in achieving desired learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to gather insights and feedback on curriculum strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for the SLT and Board of Governors on curriculum effectiveness and recommended enhancements.
  • Stay abreast of educational research and innovations to inform curriculum evaluation processes.
  • Liaise with external educational bodies and participate in curriculum-related conferences and workshops.
  • Advise on potential curriculum adjustments based on evaluation findings.

  • Have a high standard of classroom practice
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing E
  • Have the potential to lead a group of staff
  • Have high level ICT skills

Experience:

  • Show a broad understanding of current issues relating to the National Curriculum
  • Previous experience within the Primary/Secondary mainstream or private sector
  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Previous experience of individual pupil target setting for pupils who are experiencing some behaviour difficulties

Professional Development/Inset:

  • Show ongoing evidence of continued professional development E
  • Show a broad understanding and working knowledge of the National Curriculum
  •  at Key Stage 3 / 4.
  • Demonstrate a secure knowledge and understanding in their subject a
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 &4
  • Understanding of age appropriate educational developments and the implications of current relevant educational legislation
