About the role

The National Heart and Lung Institute is looking to recruit a skilled and personable individual to work closely with academic staff and their research teams in Respiratory Science.
The Section Manager will ensure effective management of Finances and HR processes, including research grant applications and post-award management. You will monitor and ensure appropriate use of research and non-research funds and provide advice and guidance on recruitment and College processes. You will coordinate the research groups’ activity, liaising with senior staff, research services, contracts management and HR teams. What you would be doing
As Section Manager, you will have a broad range of responsibilities including financial and human resource management within your groups. You will need to be proactive and creative when resolving issues related to funding and staff management.
What we are looking for
- A high level of numeracy, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail are vital in this role.
- Effective relationship building will be key to success.
- Meaningful experience in Higher Education Institutes, the NHS or related environments would be beneficial, but we encourage applicants with transferrable skills.
