Job Introduction

Skipton Building Society has anexciting opportunity for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join its Credit Risk& Risk Modelling team in Skipton. You will drive risk management activity,where there is  a breadth of opportunityto add value to the Society. We’ve adapted really well to hybrid working overthe past 2 years, so although the role is based at our Head Office in Skiptonthere would not be a requirement for you to be in the office full time.  You will have the opportunity to flexiblywork across the Credit Risk & Risk Modelling team to support leaders andcollaborate with colleagues to deliver department priorities and personalobjectives as required.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a SeniorCredit Risk Analyst, you will have a passion for analytics and have a naturalcuriosity to explore drivers of risk. You’ll support the running of criticalprocesses and you will be responsible for driving analytics to continuallyevolve our risk management capability. You’ll write and run code to analysedata, interpret outcomes and make relevant recommendations based on yourbroader experience of credit management, lending strategy development or knowledgeof credit bureau data to manage risk. You will have access to a breadth of dataand tools, where your expertise can turn information into real insight andopportunity. As a highly motivated individual, you will support change, throughinitiatives and projects.

Thisrole will allow you to buildexcellent relationships with a range ofstakeholders, where there is regular opportunity to present to committees andengage with senior leaders. You’ll act as a role model, supporting activitiesacross the Society, demonstrating an awareness of the external environment,where you will bring a deep understanding of credit risk and a goodunderstanding of modelling and economics.  You won’t hesitate to work autonomously and manage your own workloads.You’ll continue your development, gaining relevant specialist skills andtraining in appropriate analytical tools to aid your work, share best practice,with the potential to coach more junior members.  There will be opportunity to work across theCredit Risk & Risk Modelling function on a range of activity, from driving commercialopportunity to ensuring appropriate regulatory controls are in place.

What You’ll Bring

You’rean excellent communicator and a role model to the people around you.  You’ll have the ability to work with complex information and havethe ability to critically analyse information to deliver value to theSociety.  With experience in using analyticaltools or models, you’ll have the aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new codingapproaches and develop your analytical capability.

  • Excellent analytical skill and the ability to interpret data and provide recommendations
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience, including technical reports and presentations
  • Ability to turn information into real solutions or insight, communicating in a clear and concise manner.
