Overview
The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as a Self-employed Occupational Therapist to carry out Ad-Hoc assessments and make recommendations.
Cambian Merida is a new Specialist Mental Health Children Residential Services consisting of 4, five bedded registered children’s homes, and a 2 bedded extended care provision operating 52 weeks of the year alongside on-site educational support.
Merida specialises in caring for CYP who have ongoing mental health needs and challenging behaviours that may prevent them from functioning within the wider community without ongoing support.
The Occupational Therapist will, on referral, provide assessment of a young persons’ occupational skills and/or sensory skills with a report and recommendations to inform day to day care to support the young person to engage with the holistic therapeutic/care provision delivered through the site MDT. We are seeking an experienced OT, preferably with CAMHS experience to support CYP to focus on enhancing their motivation to participate in everyday life, to promote the value of occupation and activity to assist in achieving increased independence in life skills, including; problem-solving skills, motor skills and skills in communication and interaction.
Essential:
BSc or an Msc in Occupational Therapy
Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Registered with COT
Demonstrate an interest in service development
Have a licence and access to own transport.
Be a strong team player.
Have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
