About the role
The Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled individual to join as a Staffing Coordinator. Reporting to the Department Manager and working closely with other members of the core administrative team, you will play an important role in shaping and implementing HR policies within the Department.
What you would be doing
You will provide guidance, advice, and support to all staff in liaison with the HR Business Partner, ensuring that our policies are up to date and aligned with current practices. You will be the primary point of contact for HR operational activities and will be instrumental in encouraging an inclusive and collaborative work environment. You will be organised, proactive and able to manage a varied and busy workload.
- Advise and implement a range of HR processes, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on HR and EDI matters, promoting diversity and inclusion within the Department.
- Conduct regular reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of HR and EDI initiatives and propose improvements as appropriate.
- To support the recruitment and induction processes for staff across the Department.
- To analyse data available to the Department in relation to HR and EDI and identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide administrative support to various committees within the Department.

What we are looking for:
- You will have proven experience in an administrative role preferably within a similar academic, NHS Trust or research environment. You should have a strong knowledge of HR practices and EDI principles as well as experience of recruitment and selection processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively. You must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and take a proactive approach to your work.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities will be essential in this role.
