Job Description
We are seeking an efficient and supportive Catering Assistant to join our team in Scarborough, United Kingdom. This term-time position requires working on Sundays from 11:00 to 19:00 and Mondays from 08:00 to 15:00. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our catering operations and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
- Plate and Pot Washing
- Set up and maintain serving areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper presentation
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Operate basic kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and organised workspace
- Follow all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory management
- Respond to customer inquiries and special requests in a polite and helpful manner
- Participate in cleaning and closing procedures at the end of each shift
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and supportive attitude
- Strong time management abilities and capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Basic understanding of food handling and preparation techniques
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a food service setting
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Flexibility to work the required hours on Sundays and Mondays during term time
- Food hygiene certificate (desirable)
- Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred)
- Ability to commute to the work location in Scarborough
