Job Description

We are seeking an efficient and supportive Catering Assistant to join our team in Scarborough, United Kingdom. This term-time position requires working on Sundays from 11:00 to 19:00 and Mondays from 08:00 to 15:00. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our catering operations and ensuring excellent customer service.

  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
  • Plate and Pot Washing 
  • Set up and maintain serving areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper presentation
  • Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Operate basic kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and organised workspace
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory management
  • Respond to customer inquiries and special requests in a polite and helpful manner
  • Participate in cleaning and closing procedures at the end of each shift



Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and supportive attitude
  • Strong time management abilities and capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
  • Basic understanding of food handling and preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a food service setting
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Flexibility to work the required hours on Sundays and Mondays during term time
  • Food hygiene certificate (desirable)
  • Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred)
  • Ability to commute to the work location in Scarborough
