We’re Hiring: Family Support Practitioner
Are you passionate about supporting families, strengthening relationships, and helping people build positive futures? Join us as a Family Support Practitioner, where you’ll play a vital role in both prison and community settings, delivering life-changing support to clients and their families.
As a Family Support Practitioner, you will:
- Provide specialist 1:1 and group interventions for clients and family members.
- Work in partnership with Forward colleagues and external agencies to deliver holistic care and support.
- Help clients recognise healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, build positive connections, and understand how relationships impact addiction, offending, mental health, and recovery.
- Directly support families and affected others to improve their own wellbeing and empower them to support their loved ones.
- Occasionally work with children and young people, promoting whole family recovery and rehabilitation.
What We’re Looking For
You will bring:
- Experience supporting families affected by addiction, offending, and/or mental health challenges.
- Experience working directly with family members/affected others and facilitating family meetings.
- Strong background in group facilitation and interventions.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to meet evolving service needs.
- A positive, solution-focused attitude with the ability to quickly identify key issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients.
- Understanding of the voluntary sector, safeguarding (adults and children/young people), and a strong commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
