We have an exciting role on offer within our Neighbourhood service as a Community Development and Cohesion Worker.
About Us
An exciting position has arisen in the Neighbourhood South and North teams within Middlesbrough Council to deliver key outcomes relating to community cohesion and resilience, while at the same time playing a pivotal role in the resettlement of families who have been identified under various government schemes. The post holder will work alongside statutory, voluntary, and community partners as well as Middlesbrough residents to increase community resilience by improving and promoting shared social and cultural values.
The successful applicant will have:
- The ability to engage with members of the community to identify, build resilience and support improvement through signposting and engagement in direct community projects.
- The knowledge of the resources available to provide information, advice and guidance to adults.
- Knowledge of safeguarding guidance and procedures.
- Effective communication skills both written and oral, in order to interact with children and adults, colleagues, managers and partner agencies and to positively represent the council in a range of internal and external forums.
- A passion to support integration of vulnerable people as identified through recognised safe and legal routes.
Our team offers regular supervision and appraisal, shared knowledge, support and resources from co-location with the range of responsibilities within the Neighbourhoods North. The post will offer good opportunities and strong team identity.

Salary: £31,022 – £32,597
