About us

The Department of Informatics is launching a new hybrid (online/in-person) programme, the MSc Advanced Cyber Security (SE Asia), as part of our global online degree offerings. To support the delivery of world-renowned teaching in this programme and to contribute more broadly to the excellence in education within the Department, we are seeking to appoint two lecturing positions in Cybersecurity:
  • 1 x Lecturer in Cybersecurity Education (3-year fixed-term contract, Grade 7)
  • 1 x Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity Education (Programme Lead) (3-year fixed-term contract, Grade 8)
Candidates should demonstrate ambition to become scholars of international standing, with a research and publication trajectory in Computer Science Education that reflects this goal.

Our department addresses computer science challenges from a broad perspective. Faculty members regularly publish in and serve on the program committees of top-tier venues in computer science and software engineering. High-quality research establishes our faculty as leaders in their fields, enabling us to serve society while supporting King’s College London as a leading institution in science and technology. The department also maintains strong industry links, collaborating on research projects with external partners.
 
The successful candidates will teach on our forthcoming transnational and hybrid Master’s programme in Advanced Cyber Security (SE Asia), starting in September 2026. While the postholders will be based in London, this hybrid programme requires the postholders to travel to Indonesia for extended periods to conduct in-person induction, teaching, and other activities on a local campus.
 
We offer undergraduate and postgraduate education (in both computer science and artificial intelligence) catering for the needs of our students and the organisations in which they will work.  It is essential that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment needed to ensure the success of these programmes.
 
The successful candidates will be appointed to a research group and will have the opportunity to contribute to cross-cutting hubs (see  https://www.kcl.ac.uk/informatics/research/groups ). Research collaboration across research groups, with departmental hubs and with other Departments in the Faculty and across the College is strongly encouraged.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract of 3 years.
