Postdoctoral Research Fellow on Multiscale Modelling of Drug Release from Tablets

The Role
You will work on a multi-disciplinary research project funded by the EPSRC and a consortium of industrial partners, focussing on developing predictive models for predicting the drug release profile of an immediate release tablet in simulated gastrointestinal environments. You will play a key role in the consortium on developing experimental systems and data collection and analysis. It will also involve the multiscale model development, spanning from micro to macroscales, to predict the drug release profile of a tablet in different environments.
The role is on a fixed term contract for 19 months. You will be appointed at the bottom of the salary range.
Ideal Candidate
For this role, we require a talented researcher to undertake both experimental and model research work. Working knowledge of tablet design, imaging data collection and analysis, computer modelling, numerical analysis, particle technology and pharmaceutical engineering and software packages (e.g., BIOVIA Materials Studio, ANSYS CFD and MATLAB) for modelling of particulate systems (such as crystallisation processes and granulation processes) is highly desirable.
