Are you a compassionate and proactive individual who thrives on helping others succeed? Join our supportive and high-performing Student Support team and play a key role in empowering students to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

In this rewarding role, you’ll work directly with students: supporting their wellbeing, helping them stay engaged in education, and preparing them for the world of work. You’ll collaborate with curriculum and support teams to design and deliver tailored intervention sessions, both one-to-one and in small groups, helping students to become more resistant and confident.

If you’re ready to bring your energy, empathy, and expertise to a team that values your contribution, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll be joining a vibrant college community, working directly with young people aged 16–19, as well as adults, many of whom are navigating significant life transitions. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in overcoming personal, emotional, and educational barriers so they can thrive both in college and beyond.

You will have shared responsibility for monitoring and supporting students on your caseload, including those with mental health and wellbeing needs, so a strong understanding of specific support needs is essential. If you do not already hold a Mental Health First Aid qualification, we’ll provide training to support your development.

As part of a multi-agency approach, you’ll confidently liaise not only with students, but also with their parents/carers and external professionals to ensure a holistic support plan is in place.  Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are key, as you’ll help maintain accurate records of safeguarding and welfare concerns.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people and/or vulnerable adults, and a passion for removing barriers to learning and promoting student wellbeing in an educational setting.

This role will be working 20 hours per week, term-time only based at our Barnfield College campus in Luton, with occasional travel to other sites. You will have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role.

Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be actively encouraged to upskill.

You can access a wide range of discounts and benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking, pension, generous holiday scheme, time off at Christmas and early finishes on a Friday.

The closing date for applications is 23rd January 2026.
