We have an exciting role on offer within our Resident and Business Support service as a Revenues and Benefits Assistant/Officer.

Are you ready to take on a high-impact role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a Revenues and Benefits Assistant/Officer to drive excellence across our Revenue Services – the backbone of the Council’s income management.

This is your chance to shape how we collect millions in Council income streams, including Business Rates and other key revenues. You’ll be part of a talented team, champion digital change, and ensure compliance while delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration, collection and enforcement of business rates and other Council revenues.
  • Seek continuous improvement, streamline processes, and embrace innovation.
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation and internal policies.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Use data and insights to make smart decisions and deliver measurable results.

About You:

  • Proven experience in business rates administration, collection and recovery.
  • Understanding of local government finance, particularly business rates.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Proficient in using relevant IT systems and data analysis tools.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and customer-focused service delivery.

Salary: £27,254 – £30,024 (Depending on Experience)
