Operations Planning & Communications Assistant
Hemel Hempstead, Hybrid (3 days/ week in office)
Annual salary + bonus and benefits
Join us at Haven and help keep our operations connected, clear, and running smoothly.
As part of our Central Operations Planning & Comms team, this role plays a vital part in supporting how we plan, communicate, and deliver great experiences across our parks. You’ll provide essential administrative and communication support — from managing inboxes and coordinating activity governance, to helping create engaging communication packs, bulletins, and newsletters that bring our plans to life. Working closely with the Head of Planning & Ops Comms, you’ll help ensure our operational messages are clear, timely, and well organised, enabling our teams to stay aligned, informed, and ready to deliver unforgettable holidays for our guests.
What you will be doing:
- Planning, governance & organisation: Maintaining accurate activity plans, calendars, and schedules, preparing documentation for governance forums and providing basic analysis to support informed decision-making, with a strong focus on structure, process, and attention to detail.
- Operational communications & quality: Supporting the creation and coordination of bulletins, newsletters, and operational communications, applying high-quality written, verbal, and proofreading skills to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Change control & documentation: Coordinating change control processes, ensuring SOPs, protocols, ways of working, and operational documents are accurate, compliant, and up to date, while confidently managing ambiguity and time-sensitive requests.
- Collaborative admin support: Providing proactive administrative support across Central Ops, setting up briefings, agendas, and information packs, using solid IT capability and intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint).
- Relationships & continuous improvement: Building trusted relationships across Central Ops, Support Centre, and Parks, managing distribution groups and communication channels, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working under pressure.
What we’d like you to bring:
- Strong planning and organisational capability, with proven administrative or coordination experience, a natural affinity for structure and process, and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
- Clear, confident communication skills, including high-quality written and verbal communication, proofreading to a high level of accuracy, and the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels across Central Ops, Support Centre, and Parks.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement, with the ability to remain calm in ambiguous or high-pressure situations and know when to escalate appropriately.
- Digital confidence and operational awareness, including intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint) and, ideally, a working knowledge of Haven park operations and how central planning supports on-park delivery.
