About Us
GKT School of Medical Education undertakes a significant – and growing – amount of educational partnership activity within the UK and overseas. Examples of this include the University of Portsmouth Branch Campus (work led by the MBBS Branch Campus Programme Director), and Consultancy and Capacity building work with Abdullah-Al-Salem University in Kuwait.
About the role
To support these and future ventures, we are now seeking a senior clinical medical educationalist with experience of partnership working, developing new UK programmes and understanding of the GKT approach to medical education.
The successful candidate will work with new and existing partners to ensure high quality education, engaging meaningfully with GKT Directors to align processes and GKT approaches as needed and drawing upon additional expertise such as that in Faculty Development.
The postholder will work closely with Faculty Education Services (FES) and university colleagues to ensure effective and timely implementation of partnership arrangements. While the focus of the work will be in the development of partnership educational programmes, the arc of projects of this sort will usually involve influence in business development and as projects evolve into business as usual.

The full time medical education role includes up to 2 sessions for clinical activity, by arrangement with a KHP trust, as appropriate. Alternatively, a 0.8 FTE role could be undertaken with 0.2 FTE existing clinical sessions from an existing arrangement.

- The post is full time and includes up to 2 sessions/PAs (0.2 FTE) for clinical activity by arrangement with a KHP trust, linked to an honorary consultant contract. Alternatively, the post could be a 0.8 FTE academic contract with 0.2 FTE existing clinical sessions from an existing arrangement
This is a full time post (40 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 5 years.
