About Us

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Developmental Physiology Group in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, currently based at the Francis Crick Institute. The group studies genetic and environmental causes of pregnancy complications, and lifelong effects of an adverse early life environment for the offspring. Our lab integrates mouse genetics, epigenetics, maternal physiology and metabolomics to try to understand programming phenomena at multiple levels.  

About the role

The person appointed to this role is expected to lead a research project within the Charalambous lab funded by the Leverhulme Trust. They will develop techniques and methodologies to assess how the placenta drives maternal metabolic adaptations to pregnancy. They will be expected to act as an integrated member of the team, including contributing to lab discussions and the training of students and other junior lab members. They will also be responsible for day-to-day budget and regulatory tasks associated with their project.
 
This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 28/02/2028.
