Catering Compliance Assistant Officer – Westminster, SW1A 0PW
We are looking for Catering Compliance Assistant Officer to join our Catering and Retail Services Office at the House of Lords. This is a position where you will ensure that all catering operations comply with current food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
The role supports compliance Manger and the catering team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, documentation, and operational compliance in line with UK legislation and internal policies.
You’ll be accountable to:
* Conduct regular checks to ensure adherence to Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations (England) 2013.
* Maintain accurate records of temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and allergen information.
* Monitor and report on compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
* Support risk assessments and ensure safe working practices within health & safety, food safety food preparation and service areas.
* Assist in training catering staff on hygiene, food handling, and compliance procedures, Mandatory Act training.
* Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including equipment and surfaces.
* Respond to customer queries regarding food safety and allergens.

What we’re looking for:
* Knowledge of UK food safety legislation and best practices.
* Experience in a catering or compliance-related role.
* Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Support in contract management.
* Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
It would be even better if you had or if you’re willing to learn…
* Level 3 Food Safety or HACCP training.
* Experience in Hotels, schools, healthcare, or large-scale catering environments.
* Familiarity with digital compliance systems.
