Frontline Supervisor –
Job Description

This role supports Costain for the Reactor Height Reduction Project at Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) Trawsfynydd Site, based in North Wales. The 3.5 year project will involve the partial demolition of each RB’s, reducing the overall height and reducing the current asset management liability. In addition, an extensive package of civil new build and remedial Works will be delivered prolonging the durability of the retained structures.

A first of its kind for the Nuclear Sector; this challenging and exciting project which includes a wide supply chain will significantly reduce the uncertainty associated with the current condition of the reactor buildings and lessen the visual impact caused by the Reactor Buildings on the Snowdonia National Park.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking Front Line Supervisor duties to ensure our Sub Contractors are working safely and ensuring the supplied resource are qualified in their roles (SQEP)
  • Producing and disseminating Pre job briefs
  • Accurate record keeping for daily logs
  • Delivering accurate pre job briefs to the Sub Contractors and attendance at the workfaces
  • Keeping accurate daily logs
  • Collection of work packs for each task from the Safe System of Work Controllers
  • Ensuring the Sub Contractor are working safely in line with the approved RAMS
  • Checking of SQEP records
  • Liaising with the client representative to ensure work packs are approved and programmes are being met
  • Attendance and presentation of progress at weekly meetings

    Skills required:

    Essential

  • Basic IT skills (Word/Excel)
  • Full Driving License
  • Ability to achieve security clearance (SC/DV)
  • Previous Supervisory experience
  • Risk assessment awareness

    Desirable

  • Demolition experience
  • Decommissioning experience

Qualifications

Essential

  • IOSH or NEBOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • CSCS Supervisor Gold or black card
  • SMSTS or SSSTS or equivalent
