A position is available for a fixed-term maternity cover position as Lecturer in Biomedical Science on the Teaching and Scholarship career pathway to join our dedicated team of academic staff in the School of Biosciences.

The post holder will undertake a full teaching load, including the development, delivery and evaluation of modules/programmes in biosciences within the undergraduate and postgraduate provision within the school, supervise students and carry out administrative duties which may include student recruitment.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a subject area or relevant industrial experience within the biomedical sciences area, teaching experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level within the biomedical sciences area and specialist knowledge within the academic subject area biomedical diseases, encompassing one or more of the following: (i) cardiovascular, (ii) respiratory, (iii) other relevant human diseases, and (iv) physiological or genetic aspects of biomedical diseases.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), and fixed term until 16th April 2027, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Salary: £41,064 – £46,049 per annum (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.

Bydd yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn meddu ar PhD mewn maes pwnc cysylltiedig neu brofiad perthnasol yn niwydiant y gwyddorau biofeddygol, profiad o addysgu ar lefel israddedig/ôl-raddedig ym maes y gwyddorau biofeddygol, a gwybodaeth arbenigol ym maes clefydau biofeddygol, gan gynnwys un neu’n fwy o’r canlynol: (i) cardiofasgwlaidd, (ii) anadlol, (iii) clefydau dynol perthnasol eraill, a (iv) agweddau ffisiolegol neu enetig ar glefydau biofeddygol.

Swydd amser llawn (35 awr yr wythnos) yw hon am gyfnod penodol tan 16 Abril 2027.

Cyflog: £41,064 – £46,049 y flwyddyn (Gradd 6). Ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, mae unigolion fel arfer yn dechrau ar waelod y raddfa gyflog, ac eithrio mewn amgylchiadau eithriadol.
