What the day will look like

 

You will act as a key internal operational and technical contact for DB administration matters, supporting Scheme Administration colleagues and internal teams through clear communication, structured problem solving and consistent delivery.

 

  • Serve as a key internal operational contact on DB administration matters, helping colleagues to interpret issues, agree solutions and ensure timely, accurate delivery of services.
  • Collaborate closely with Scheme Administrators, Consultants and GCC colleagues, ensuring service excellence and a consistent approach to operations.
  • Proactively identify, investigate and explain queries, including benefit, data or process-related queries, to support informed internal decision making.
  • Provide clear summaries, recommendations and practical solutions to support Scheme Administration colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to administration colleagues handling member benefit and option queries.
  • Apply a rigorous approach to checking, validation and quality control across operational deliverables.
  • Draft and review administration templates, technical guidance and standard communications to ensure complex information is presented clearly and accurately.
  • Provide input to internal operational reporting, technical documentation and process updates.
  • Contribute to streamlining processes where appropriate and clearly articulate the operational benefits of proposed changes.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on quality, integrity, continuous improvement and strong operational outcomes.
  • Support and mentor junior team members and new colleagues, fostering professional development, consistency of approach and knowledge sharing across the Wealth business.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple teams, including Scheme Administration, Consultants, GCC colleagues and approved external providers.
  • Actively share operational insight and lessons learned to help drive service enhancements.
  • Take ownership of operational deliverables while supporting wider team priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Aon Ireland’s Defined Benefit team in a role that combines technical pension expertise, operational delivery and internal stakeholder engagement.

 

You will work with Scheme Administration, Consulting and GCC colleagues to influence service delivery, support process improvements and help drive high-quality outcomes for members and scheme stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play an important role in strengthening the quality, consistency and efficiency of Defined Benefit pension administration across Ireland.

 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

 

  • Excellent understanding of Defined Benefit pensions, including scheme benefits and administration.
  • Previous experience in DB Pension Scheme Administration or a closely related DB pension operations role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to checking and validating work, with the ability to manage simultaneous pieces of work and meet multiple deadlines in a structured and organised way.
  • Experience in relation to Public Sector model schemes would be preferable.
