National Facilities Manager – Best Food Logistics
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 4XJ
Shift Hours: 40 hrs per week (Monday to Friday 09:00am – 17:30pm)

Our customer base includes some of the UK’s biggest hospitality and QSR chains such as KFC, Burger King, Pret and Nando’s.
An exciting new role has become available within the Senior Team for an experienced National Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the facilities and services within Best Food Logistics estate, throughout the UK.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the facilities at 6 premises across the business with a small team of colleagues at each of the 3 main locations.
Whilst this role requires frequent travel to all 6 sites, it offers you the opportunity to work from any one of our 3 main locations.
What we’re looking for
- Strong Maintenance Engineering background
- Proven track record of operating within a large Scale FMCG Sector
- Experience of refrigeration plant both ammonia and CO2
- Project Management skills
- Understanding of budgetary management
- Experience and understanding of Microsoft and computerised maintenance management system
- Experience of contributing to a multi-functional operational management team
- Ability to complete report writing etc.
- Competent in the use and development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Contractor Management
- Experience in dealing with Insurers and HSE
- Knowledge of LOLER, LEV and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations
In the role of National Facilities Manager, you will manage the sites to ensure that we are Health & Safe and Legal and to ensure the continued safety of all colleagues and that all facilities are fit for purpose, well-maintained and fully compliant with all statutory requirements.
This will include:
- Through a small team at each of our locations, managing the maintenance, statutory compliance and upkeep of the incoming and outgoing services associated with the refrigeration plant, including the buildings and assets at each of our locations
- Develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance life-cycle requirements
- Responsibility for utilities and services – general utilities to include water, gas and electricity, effluent, equipment, air handling and ventilation, Compressors, boilers and steam generation, fire alarm, emergency lighting, buildings, and fabrication
- Conduct and document regular facilities inspections
- You will be required to create tender specifications, analysis, supplier bids, suppler service level agreements
- Ensuring that the sites have appropriate always accreditation/permits and operate in compliance with all relevant legislative standards
- Prioritising spend/resources and activity across the sites to ensure that proactive and reactive work result in maximum service effectiveness
- Through the On-Site teams directing and monitoring all site services contracts and works performed to ensures compliance with site and regulatory safety standards and delivery of activity in line with contracted agreement
- Providing leadership and direction to ensure that colleagues are kept safe, engaged, focused, developed and delivering their potential
- Setting and managing annual revenue and capex budgets, balancing efficiency, and effectiveness to ensure services are provided within agreed parameters
- Identify, prioritise, and create proposals to maintain and develop the site services in line with Business Team/Group strategic objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering or related qualification, such as project management, business management or construction management
- Further relevant Facilities Management qualifications and membership of FM industry organisations such as IWFM
- Experience of managing different properties across multiple sites
- IOSH or NEBOSH Qualifications
- Exceptional communications skills and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative working style and ability to remain calm even when under pressure
- A hands on approach to ensure matters are dealt with efficiently and affectively
- Tech savvy and ready to embrace modern building technology and FM related systems
- A working knowledge of financial principles and practices
- A working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems
- A working knowledge of procurement and contracts
- A sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Experience of managing a multi-million pound budget
