Retail Team Member – Hinton Ampner,Alresford, United Kingdom

We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Hinton Ampner , to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.

Salary: £12.75

Contract/duration: Fixed Term ending 30th June 2027
Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
The vacancy is for approximately six hours on average per week, Mon-Fri. As this is a flexible contract, there will be opportunities to cover for sickness/leave, which include weekends and Bank Holidays. Working over Christmas/Easter is expected. The shop is open 11-5 April – November, 10-4 mid-November to Christmas Eve- the other two months 11-4 when average hours will be slightly less. The shop is closed for most of January.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.

You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
