Ancillary Business Development Manager (3605) – Monument Place

Looking for your next career move, look no further come and join GTR as the Ancillary Business Development Manager, based at Monument Place with hybrid working

Within this role you will:-

Deliver the Ancillary Revenue annual revenue budget for the business development area; and to drive revenue growth across the GTR commercial estate by identifying, developing and delivering 
new ancillary revenue opportunities, with a focus on increasing station space utilisation, filling gaps in provision and expanding digital and modular commercial formats.  The post holder acts as the commercial lead for new ancillary development initiatives, working collaboratively with DfTO, other TOCs, Network Rail and internal stakeholders to maximise 
commercial returns, unlock value, optimise underused spaces and deliver innovative commercial solutions that enhance customer experience and generate sustainable income, whilst ensuring 
alignment with customer, stakeholder, regulatory and operational requirements.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:-

  • Preparing robust business cases, financial models and investment appraisals for new commercial formats, partnerships and investment proposals. 
  • Lead initiatives to increase utilisation of station space, including concourses, forecourts, arches, back-of-house areas, car parks and external land. 
  • Work with suppliers, designers and contractors to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions. 
  • Collaborate with DfTO, other TOCs and Network Rail to identify joint opportunities, shared initiatives and estate-wide commercial improvements.
  • Work with Legal, Finance and Procurement to ensure robust, future-proofed contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Insights team to provide monthly performance reporting for initiatives. 
  • Identify risks, dependencies and mitigations for new commercial ventures.

What we are looking for:-

  • Experience in commercial development, business development, asset management or property-related revenue growth.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated property, transport, infrastructure or public facing environment.
  • Ability to interpret financial, operational and customer data to drive decisions.
  • Demonstrable experience of using financial, sales and performance data and modelling to drive commercial decisions and develop business cases.
  • Experience of market engagement, procurement support and contract mobilisation.
  • Proven track record of delivering value-for-money outcomes and managing commercial risk.
  • Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
