Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is recruiting for an Affiliate / Associate to join our strategy consulting team in Rotterdam. Aon STG is Aon’s global consulting and technology business focused on, but not limited to, insurance and reinsurance companies and capital investors in the insurance industry. The 400+ team provides strategy and actuarial consulting and technology services to many of the most prestigious companies in global (re)insurance. We have privileged access to Aon’s proprietary data and the knowledge of its global network of insurance industry experts to derive unique and compelling insights into the sources of competitive advantage in one of the most intellectually demanding and globally relevant industries. 
 
Your role will involve delivering exceptional insights and work for our clients and building enduring relationships with them to support their growth and performance in insurance markets across UK and EMEA.

From day one, you will work on board level strategy topics, such as: 
  • Entering new global and regional markets 
  • Defining growth strategies for global (re)insurers 
  • Supporting Tier-1 private equity transactions and commercial due diligences 
  • Designing operating models for complex, international insurance platforms 
  • Assessing how AI, analytics, and capital structures reshape the industry 
This is pure strategy work — you will help shape decisions that move billions in capital and risk. 
 
The Opportunity 
We are seeking high potential individual to join our UK/EMEA Aon STG team based in Rotterdam as an Affiliate / Associate in Strategy Consulting. 
 
This role will offer you the opportunity to: 
  1. Be exposed to critical strategy consulting projects for C-suite clients across our global client base 
  1. Translate data and insights into meaningful recommendations 
  1. Collaborate with our UK/EMEA project teams 
  1. Experience a steep learning curve 
You’ll learn from highly experienced consultants how C-suite decisions are made, and how data analytics and judgement come together under uncertainty and pressure. You will collaborate daily with colleagues from countries, cultures, and disciplines, and all project work is internationally focused. In addition, you will work closely with subject matter experts across the firm to ensure we capture their unique expertise in our project work. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Structure and analyze complex strategic problems 
  • Translate large datasets into insights and executive level implications 
  • Conduct market, competitor, and financial analysis 
  • Build clear, compelling client deliverables and presentations 
  • Participate in client interviews and senior level workshops 
  • Contribute to hypothesis driven problem-solving and recommendations 
  • Support proposal development and project scoping 
  • Build relationships across Aon’s global network 
International travel makes up approximately 10–15% of your time. 
 
Requirements 
We are looking for curious, driven, and analytical individuals who want to grow fast and make an impact. You bring: 
  • 0–3 years of experience (including internships) in strategy consulting, financial services, analytics, or a related field 
  • A strong interest in insurance, reinsurance, risk, capital markets, or analytics 
  • A Master’s degree (Engineering, Economics, Finance, or similar) 
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills 
  • The ability to turn data into clear insights and stories 
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders 
  • Experience with analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel) is highly valued 
  • Fluency in English; additional main European languages are a plus 
  • Eligible to work in the EU 
Important qualities include intellectual curiosity, ambition, and a desire to learn fast.
