As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll be part of our supportive team based primarily at Gravesham Community Hospital, Gravesend.

Job Introduction
Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist looking to develop your skills in a friendly and forward-thinking community team?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our team based at Gravesham Community Hospital, working 37.5 hours per week.
You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary service that encourages innovation and continuous development. Our team has adapted to provide flexible, person-centred care — including a mix of in-person and telehealth interventions — ensuring our patients continue to receive high-quality, evidence-based therapy.
Gravesham Community Hospital is conveniently located near St George’s Shopping Centre, surrounded by local cafés and shops, making it an ideal base location.
Main Responsibilities
As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, therapy, and advice for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Work closely with senior clinicians to deliver high-quality, person-centred interventions.
- Manage a varied caseload that may include patients with neurological conditions, head and neck cancer, voice, and dysfluency disorders.
- Contribute to service development and multidisciplinary meetings as part of the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT).
- Receive support and supervision to develop clinical expertise and build confidence in your specialist areas.
The Ideal Candidate
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
- HCPC registration
- RCSLT membership
- Experience working with adults with communication and swallowing disorders across a range of conditions, using a variety of assessments and therapy approaches
- A proactive approach to learning and development, with a passion for delivering person-centred care
- Confidence using IT systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
