This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute professional who enjoys managing complex contracts, influencing stakeholders and identifying opportunities that create value for customers and the business.

What you’ll be doing

As the commercial lead for GTR’s car parking and advertising portfolios, you will:

  • Develop and implement strategies that drive revenue growth through innovation, pricing, product development and estate optimisation.
  • Lead the management of key commercial contracts, ensuring suppliers meet contractual obligations, KPIs and service standards.
  • Identify and deliver new commercial opportunities, investment proposals and business cases.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across GTR, the Department for Transport Operator (DfTO), Network Rail, other train operators and commercial partners.
  • Oversee supplier performance, contract renewals, commercial negotiations and procurement activities.

 What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone with:

 Essential experience

  • Commercial contract management experience within a complex operational environment.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience using financial and performance data to develop business cases and drive commercial decisions.
    • A track record of delivering value-for-money outcomes and managing commercial risk.
    • Experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
    • The ability to analyse data and translate insight into action.

Desirable experience

  • Experience within transport, infrastructure, parking, advertising or other customer-facing sectors.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and commercial governance.
  • Experience working with public sector partners, rail operators or Network Rail.
  • Understanding of customer behaviour, advertising trends or parking technologies.

What success looks like

You’ll be a commercially curious and highly organised individual who can balance revenue growth with customer experience, influence senior stakeholders, challenge suppliers to improve performance and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

 Why join GTR?

Car parks and advertising represent two of GTR’s most important ancillary revenue streams. This role offers the opportunity to shape their future, influence strategy, manage key commercial relationships and contribute directly to the success of one of the UK’s largest rail operators.

If you’re an ambitious commercial professional who enjoys combining strategy, stakeholder management and revenue growth, we’d love to hear from you.
