About the Role
We’re recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join our catering team at HMNB Clyde, part of the ESS – Compass Group.
You’ll play an important role in providing freshly prepared meals for 200–400 Service Personnel in a busy canteen environment, ensuring quality, consistency, and great service at every meal. ⚓
Shift Details
Hours: 35 hours per week (work–life balance focused)
Pattern: 4-week rotation

2 weeks Early Shift: 08:00 – 15:00

2 weeks Late Shift: 15:00 – 21:00

1 weekend in 4
Meal Service Times:

Breakfast: 06:30 – 08:15

Lunch: 11:30 – 13:00

Dinner: 17:30 – 19:30
Team: 14 colleagues working across the canteen service
Experience and Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar chef or catering role – essential

Relevant catering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable

Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures

Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain high service standards

Positive attitude and commitment to delivering great food and service
