Education Specialist, Research and Evidence – Cambridge

Salary – Salary Plan, 36,000.00 GBP Annual
We’re seeking an Education Specialist, Research and Evidence to lead the design and management of projects within our research and evidence roadmap and play a pivotal role in supporting our education team through the collection and dissemination of impactful research. This is a fixed-term role covering maternity leave for up to 12 months.
About the Role:
You’ll develop analytics and insights services for internal stakeholders, focusing on empowering colleagues and anticipating their needs to drive evidence-based decision-making. A key part of your work will involve contributing to our education policy activities by monitoring educational developments, compiling and analysing relevant information, and providing robust evidence for policy-influencing documents including consultation responses and position statements.
You’ll build collaborative relationships with external organisations to enhance our influence in the education sector. While our education work primarily focuses on the UK and Ireland, you’ll also contribute to evidence gathering that informs our work in a global context.
This role offers the opportunity to shape how we use research and data to influence education policy and practice, working at the heart of strategic initiatives that make a real difference.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role. This role may also occasionally involve weekends and non-core working hours. If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application.
What we are looking for:
Essential:

Degree-level education or equivalent, with strong knowledge of UK education policy and practice

Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure

Proven track record of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, handling challenges with professionalism and tact

Demonstrated experience interpreting complex qualitative and quantitative data to extract insights and inform decisions

Ability to design and deliver research projects, including surveys and focus groups, aligned to business objectives

Outstanding communication skills, including presenting data and insights clearly to varied audiences
Desirable:

Experience conducting or commissioning policy or education research

Experience working in or with international schools
