The Environmental Protection Team is looking to appoint an Environmental Protection Officer to implement and develop the Council’s Air Quality Strategy.

This new fixed term role will seek to maintain the Councils Statutory Duties as well as develop programmes, including with partners, to implement and monitor programmes within the district that focus on air quality awareness and improvement.

The role will require the successful candidate to manage the Council’s air quality monitoring programme as well as maintain the collation, interpretation of data and reporting to DEFRA. The postholder will also lead on air quality advice within the Environmental Protection Team and within the Council as a whole. Further to this, the Officer will look to develop and deliver educational air quality programmes, which will include sharing knowledge and outcomes with County partners.

The postholder will be expected to provide accurate authoritative advice and support to internal and external stakeholders and the public on air quality through for example, reports and briefing notes, giving presentations and direct face to face communication.
