As a Finance Specialist on the Public Sector Finance team, you’ll partner with colleagues across North America to support the financial management of client engagements from project setup through closeout. Your work will help ensure accurate financial operations, strong financial stewardship, and a seamless experience for both internal stakeholders and clients.
What You’ll Do
Working closely with Finance colleagues, case teams, and cross-functional partners, you’ll contribute to the financial health of client engagements while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency. You’ll apply analytical thinking, attention to detail, and sound judgment to help deliver timely, high-quality financial support.
- Support financial management across the client engagement lifecycle, including project setup, contract administration, invoicing, revenue recognition, cash collections, and project closeout.
- Partner with Public Sector Finance colleagues and business stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely financial support for client engagements.
- Support timely invoicing, collections, and contract administration activities that contribute to healthy days sales outstanding (DSO).
- Contribute to initiatives that strengthen financial controls, streamline workflows, and improve reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
- Build collaborative relationships across Finance, Contracts, and case teams to support consistent, high-quality financial operations.
What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- One to three years of experience in finance, accounting, financial operations, or a related business function.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with experience using financial ERP systems such as SAP and CRM platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial information and recommend practical solutions.
- Interest in continuous improvement, including the use of AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, increase efficiency, and improve the user experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll be part of the Public Sector Finance team, collaborating with Finance colleagues, Public Sector Business Services teams, case teams, and clients to support the financial management of client engagements. You’ll partner closely with Contracts and other Business Services teams to deliver accurate, timely financial operations throughout the client lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to build strong cross-functional relationships while contributing to efficient financial operations that enable successful client delivery.

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.
We expect total annualized compensation for New York City-based employees to be approximately the following:
- Base salary between $70,000- $86,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
- Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-12%
- 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period
- First year annualized target total compensation: $75,000 – $91,000 (USD)
