Job Description
Costain are working with Anglian Water on their new Reservoirs Programme to support progression of 2 huge new reservoirs through DCO (Govt Approval). We are primarily acting as Anglian Water’s Principal Contractor under CDM for the extensive site investigation works and have fantastic opportunities for individuals looking to join our growing delivery team, working predominantly across Sleaford (Lincolnshire), Chatteris (Cambridgeshire) and Peterborough.
This programme of work is separate from the main Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) programme
The role will be site based in the Lincolnshire area.

Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards of safety and environmental protection are consistently maintained on site
- Be the lead for the construction works and represent Costain on site
- Oversee and establish close working relationships with our supply chain and direct resources
- Carry out Toolbox Talks and Start of Shift Briefings
- Input to and monitoring of the agreed programme and budget
- Maintain site records including daily diary, plant and labour returns, ITPs, etc
- Provide construction input to the design of the project to add value
- Organise and supervise the works to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental issues are maintained
- Plan and assist Site Agents in determining best approach to works, advising on subcontractor/specialists’ strengths and concerns
- Be fully conversant with subcontractor/specialist’s contract conditions and attendances given by Costain
- Review programme daily and assist the Construction Manager/Site Agents in identifying opportunities
- Record resources and monitor outputs against programme
- Full adherence to Costain policies and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working on infra/non-infra water delivery projects (preferred)
- Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Computer competence (MS word, excel, document control system)
- Have integrity by always doing the right thing in the right way
- Must be customer focused by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating and meeting their needs
Qualifications
- SMTS
- Relevant CSCS Card / equivalent
- First Aid training
- EUSR safety passport and EUSR water hygiene
- Confined Space Training (CP1 or CP2)
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental Management (e.g. IOSH)
- Full UK Driving Licence
