Global Product Senior Specialist – DC – Team Productivity – Heredia, Costa Rica

Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What You’ll Do

BCG’s Digital Collaboration portfolio touches every person in the firm. The tools we manage shape how BCGers communicate, share work, run meetings, and increasingly, how they interact with AI. As a Product Analyst on the Team Productivity squad, you will build deep expertise in that space and use it to continuously find, frame, and pursue the highest-value opportunities within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

This is a role for someone who wants to become genuinely expert in how collaboration technology works inside a global professional services firm, and who has the analytical rigor and stakeholder credibility to turn that expertise into product decisions that stick. You will serve as a trusted, specialized resource for the squad and for portfolio leadership, applying advanced knowledge to questions that span user behavior, product capability, adoption strategy, and the evolving AI landscape. You will make most decisions in your area independently, bring structure and insight to complex problems, and provide real leverage to the Product Owner and senior leaders you support.

The collaboration landscape at BCG is shifting significantly, with a move toward a more integrated digital ecosystem, new AI capabilities coming online continuously, and an ongoing need to connect product investment to measurable business outcomes. The person in this role will be a meaningful part of shaping that direction.

Capability Alignment & Opportunity Pathfinding

  • Develop and maintain a deep, current understanding of SaaS collaboration products ecosystem, including but (but not exclusive to) Teams, Copilot, SharePoint Online, and adjacent capabilities, and how BCGers actually use these tools day to day.
  • Identify and frame opportunities where collaboration capabilities, including AI-powered features, can meaningfully address unmet user needs or improve how BCG operates, and build the analytical case for acting on them.
  • Track applicable product roadmaps continuously and translate what is coming into practical, prioritized recommendations for the squad and portfolio leadership.
  • Conduct ongoing landscape analysis across the collaboration tool space, surfacing insights that inform both near-term prioritization and longer-term product strategy.
  • Synthesize signals from usage data, user research, support trends, and stakeholder input into a coherent, evidence-based view of where investment should go next.

Analytics, Measurement & Executive Insight

  • Define and own measurement frameworks that connect product activity to user outcomes and business value, ensuring the squad and leadership always have a clear, credible picture of what is working and what is not.
  • Build, maintain, and evolve dashboards and reporting tools that track adoption, engagement, and product health; automate recurring reporting and produce executive-ready outputs that drive decisions rather than simply inform them.
  • Design and run research programs, including usage analytics, surveys, and qualitative feedback mechanisms, synthesizing findings into structured recommendations with clear rationale.
  • Produce concise, well-reasoned outputs for leadership decision-making, including impact summaries, investment cases, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify potential challenges and risks before they become problems, developing and communicating mitigation plans proactively.

AI & Automation Enablement

  • Develop working expertise in Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Agents, Copilot Studio, and other AI-adjacent platforms, and apply that expertise to identify and evaluate high-value scenarios for BCG users.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and change management partners to translate AI capability into practical, user-centered enablement approaches that drive adoption and behavior change.
  • Build automation solutions using Power Automate and adjacent tooling to reduce manual effort in analytical, operational, and reporting workflows across the squad.
  • Track adoption patterns and friction points as new AI capabilities are introduced, feeding insights directly back into product and enablement strategy.
  • Transfer knowledge actively: document what you learn, share it with the team, and help build the squad’s collective understanding of the AI and collaboration landscape over time.

Product Delivery & Squad Contribution

  • Contribute to the Team Productivity squad’s delivery cadence, including backlog grooming, user story development, sprint planning, and dependency management.
  • Apply your analytical and technical depth to product decisions across the squad, helping the Product Owner evaluate options, frame tradeoffs, and prioritize with confidence.
  • Support structured programs and pilots as they arise, bringing rigor to planning, measurement, and stakeholder communication from the outset.
  • Serve as a specialist resource the broader Digital Collaboration portfolio can draw on, contributing your expertise to adjacent squads when relevant and capacity allows.

Stakeholder Relationships & Communication

  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with stakeholders across BCG, including product and engineering partners, business functions, regional teams, and Microsoft counterparts, using those relationships to gather insight, build alignment, and influence outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary analytical voice and communicator for your area of focus, producing outputs that give leadership what they need to make confident, well-informed decisions.
  • Modulate how you communicate based on your audience, providing the right level of technical depth for engineers, the right business framing for executives, and the right tone for end users.
  • Use data, evidence, and well-reasoned argument to influence decisions and navigate disagreement constructively.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

  • Building genuine, deep expertise in a technical product space and using that expertise to identify and frame opportunities others have not fully seen yet.
  • Thinking structurally about complex, ambiguous challenges and arriving at independent, well-reasoned conclusions without needing to be directed toward the answer.
  • Constructing rigorous analytical frameworks and drawing out insights that are both accurate and actionable, not just descriptive.
  • Communicating with clarity and appropriate technicality across a wide range of audiences, from engineers to senior executives, modulating your approach based on what each audience actually needs.
  • Building credibility and trust with stakeholders through consistent follow-through, sound judgment, and a track record of getting things right.
  • Managing complex work and competing priorities effectively, identifying risks early and adapting without losing quality or momentum.
  • Sharing what you know, creating space for others to develop, and contributing to a team culture where people feel supported and challenged in equal measure.
  • Seeking feedback actively, learning from experience, and continuously improving how you operate.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a product analyst, senior business analyst, or program management role, with a demonstrable track record of growing ownership and analytical depth over time.
  • Advanced, hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, particularly Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Copilot, including a strong understanding of adoption dynamics, user workflows, and product capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain analytical tools in Power BI, including dashboard design, KPI frameworks, and data modeling, producing outputs that drive decision-making rather than simply presenting data.
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs or workstreams end to end, with real ownership over outcomes and the ability to keep complex work moving across organizational boundaries.
  • Proven ability to design and run user and product research programs, combining qualitative and quantitative methods and synthesizing findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile product delivery and hands-on experience with Jira or equivalent backlog management tooling.
  • Practical experience building automation solutions using Power Automate or similar low-code platforms, with comfort extending into adjacent tooling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce executive-level outputs that frame information at the right level of detail and support sound decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business, information technology, computer science, or digital media, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Agents and Copilot Studio, including scenario design, agent configuration, or adoption enablement in an enterprise context.
  • Familiarity with M365 telemetry, license analytics, and usage reporting patterns, including Microsoft Viva Insights or equivalent adoption measurement frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of governance, data security, and secure-by-design principles as they apply to AI productivity tools in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in a professional services, consulting, or similarly complex, matrixed global organization, with comfort navigating ambiguity and competing stakeholder priorities.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • You establish yourself as the go-to analytical and technical resource on M365 and Copilot within the Team Productivity squad, earning trust through the quality and rigor of your work rather than through tenure.
  • You develop a sharp, well-rounded view of how BCGers use collaboration tools in practice, and you use that understanding continuously to surface opportunities that shape the squad’s priorities and the portfolio’s longer-term direction.
  • Leadership turns to you when they need to understand what is working, what users need, and where investment should go next. Your analysis and recommendations provide genuine leverage, not just information.
  • You apply your expertise across multiple initiatives over time, adapting as the collaboration landscape evolves and bringing the same level of analytical quality and stakeholder credibility to each new challenge.
  • You contribute to the team beyond your own workstream: sharing knowledge, supporting the development of others, and actively raising the quality of how the squad operates.
  • The role grows with you, and your scope of ownership expands as you build track record and trust within the portfolio.

Who You’ll Work With

  • Your direct squad, including the Team Productivity Product Owner and engineering partners focused on Microsoft tenant management, task management, and collaboration workflows.
  • Cross-portfolio squads across Digital Collaboration, including Messaging, Content Collaboration, VMX, and Data & Analytics, as the M365 and Copilot work has reach across every product area in the portfolio.
  • Portfolio-level partners including the Portfolio Enablement Director, Change & Communications Manager, UX, and the Agile Center of Excellence.
  • Microsoft partner teams supporting Copilot deployment, adoption engineering, and technical readiness.
  • Stakeholders across BCG globally, spanning every business function, practice area, and region with exposure to the collaboration tools this squad supports.
  • Executive sponsors and senior IT leadership, for whom you will produce regular, well-reasoned updates on product performance, opportunity assessments, and strategic direction.
