Do you enjoy building web-based forms, solving practical problems and using technology to make processes work better? We’re looking for a motivated graduate to join our People and Organisation Service and gain hands-on experience developing web-based forms for our HR service, alongside supporting the development of data dashboards and reports.

Working alongside our HR Systems Development and Integrations Officer, you’ll help create and improve digital forms and workflows, support the development and use of HR systems, and contribute to reports that turn workforce data into clear, useful insight.

This opportunity would particularly suit someone who enjoys building forms, wants to apply their HTML and Visual Basic skills in a real-world setting, and enjoys working with data. As part of the role, you’ll also be supported to complete an accredited PRINCE2 project management qualification and apply your learning to real service priorities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the design, development, testing and maintenance of bespoke digital web forms and workflows, working with users to understand requirements and improve digital processes.
  • Assist in the development, enhancement and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards, helping to ensure accurate, timely and meaningful data insight.
  • Work with colleagues across the People & Organisation service to support systems integration, data quality and the effective flow of information between digital tools and platforms.
  • Contribute to defined digital, data and improvement projects, supporting documentation, testing, user guidance and continuous improvement activity.
  • Develop technical, analytical and professional skills through supervised work, training and project involvement, supporting progression into a specialist digital, data or systems role.

Who we’re looking for

You’re curious, organised and enjoy developing forms and working with data. You like solving problems, learning new technologies and turning information into meaningful insights. To be eligible for this graduate trainee opportunity, you’ll need:

  • A 2:1 degree or above, obtained within the last 3 years
  • Knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • An understanding of how web-based forms and systems operate, including configuration, validation, responsive design principles and user experience
  • A basic understanding of databases and SQL, including how data is stored, structured and queried
  • An interest in data analysis, reporting and dashboard development, with a willingness to develop skills in tools such as Power BI
  • The ability to explain technical ideas clearly and logically to non-technical colleagues

What’s in it for you?

  • A 12-month paid opportunity (aiming to commence mid-September 2026)
  • A recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2)
  • Professional support and mentorship
  • 27 days of annual leave, plus 8 public holidays
  • Hybrid working – subject to a suitable workspace, broadband connection and service needs
  • Flexi-time – you can flex your working hours between 7:30am and 7:00pm
  • The potential for a follow-on contract, subject to outstanding performance and available funding, which may include further support to gain a specialist professional qualification
