Head of Financial Partnering – Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve Finance Business Partnering as an impactful discipline, ensuring that the team delivers measurable improvements in business performance and actively contributes to the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives
  • Work collaboratively with the Operating Board and other Heads of function across the business to lead and support on key decisions, ensuring effective support is provided

  • Act as a key advisor on major business initiatives and development opportunities, challenging assumptions and providing robust financial analysis to support optimal decision-making and sustainable growth

  • Allocate team resources to maximise value creation, focusing on areas with the greatest potential to enhance business performance and deliver strategic outcomes

  • Embed sustainability and long-term value creation into all decision processes.

  • Work with the Head of Finance & IR to provide leadership and drive colleague engagement across the Finance team, coordinating planning, development and communication activities

  • Provide training and skills development for team members, building capacity and succession plans across the Finance function.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking feedback, benchmarking performance, and implementing best practices to support strategic business goals

  • As a Head of function, contribute to wider cross-functional business projects and initiatives to help shape business plans and strategy

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a senior Financial Business Partnering role or similar
  • Ability to think about the wider picture and make sound decisions.
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior management.
  • Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
  • A professional accounting qualification.
  • Have demonstrable experience in people management and people development
