Help shape the future of nuclear transport

At Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS), we’re entrusted with supporting some of the UK’s most important nuclear transport and logistics operations. To achieve this safely, securely and efficiently, we need a high-performing supply chain that delivers value, innovation and resilience.

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Management to lead our procurement and supply chain function, overseeing around £100m of annual third-party spend and a network of approximately 550 suppliers.

This is a high-profile leadership role where you’ll help shape business strategy, influence executive decision-making, strengthen supplier partnerships and ensure our procurement activities deliver maximum value while maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance.

What you’ll be doing

As a member of the wider Commercial leadership team, you’ll provide strategic leadership across procurement, supply chain management, supplier relationship management and contract management.

You will:

  • Develop and deliver NTS’s procurement and supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and future growth plans.
  • Lead and develop a team of procurement, supply chain and buying professionals, ensuring the function has the capability and capacity to meet business demands.
  • Drive value from third-party spend through effective category management, supplier performance improvement and commercial decision-making.
  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers, promoting innovation, resilience and long-term value.
  • Ensure procurement activity remains compliant with public procurement legislation, Government standards and NDA Group requirements.
  • Lead supplier contract management activities, ensuring contracts are effectively mobilised, managed and renewed.
  • Oversee supply chain risk management and contingency planning for critical suppliers.
  • Support major bids, contract renewals and strategic projects by providing procurement and supply chain expertise.
  • Deliver insightful reporting and performance analysis to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Represent NTS with key external stakeholders, industry partners, Government bodies and the wider NDA Group.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a strategic procurement leader with significant experience operating in a complex, regulated environment.

The Kind of People We’re Looking For

A trusted leader who supports, motivates and constructively challenges their teams and wider colleagues

We’re interested in who you are, not just what’s on your CV.

You’re likely to thrive at NTS if you:

  • Take ownership of your work and enjoy being trusted to deliver
  • Are collaborative, approachable and naturally supportive of others
  • Care about doing the right thing, in the right way
  • Are curious and motivated to learn, improve and grow
  • Communicate openly and act with integrity and respect
  • Are comfortable working in a purpose-driven, highly regulated environment

You don’t need to tick every box on day one — we value potential, attitude and alignment with our culture just as much as experience.

Benefits

  • 30 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
  • Buy / Sell annual leave
  • Health Shield
  • Nuclear Pension Scheme
  • Hybrid working
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Bonus
  • Professional development and career progression opportunities
  • Opportunity to work on nationally and internationally significant projects within the nuclear transport sector
