Hygiene Team Leader – Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE13 2RD
Permanent – Full-Time
Salary: Up to £15.67 per hour
- Leading and supporting the Hygiene team throughout the night shift.
- Organising the team’s workload and allocating cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are completed within the required timescales.
- Making sure cleaning schedules and hygiene standards are completed correctly and consistently.
- Supporting, motivating and providing guidance to Hygiene Operatives throughout the shift.
- Monitoring the quality of cleaning and carrying out checks to make sure required standards have been achieved.
- Ensuring production equipment, machinery and work areas are cleaned and sanitised safely and effectively.
- Making sure the correct cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE are used in line with site procedures.
- Ensuring all hygiene documentation and cleaning records are completed accurately and on time.
- Following and promoting Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and GMP standards at all times.
- Identifying and reporting any hygiene, equipment, safety or quality concerns promptly.
- Supporting the training and development of new and existing Hygiene colleagues.
- Making sure colleagues understand their responsibilities and follow the correct cleaning procedures.
- Supporting investigations into any hygiene or cleaning issues and helping to put improvements in place.
- Communicating clearly with Hygiene Management, Production and other departments regarding progress, issues and priorities.
- Helping to manage absence, performance and day-to-day colleague concerns with support from management where required.
- Ensuring the team works safely and efficiently while achieving the required hygiene standards and targets.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards throughout the factory.
- Leading by example and creating a positive, supportive and professional working environment within the team.
- Has previous experience leading, supervising or supporting a team.
- Has a good understanding of hygiene and cleaning standards within a manufacturing environment.
- Understands the importance of Food Safety, Health & Safety and hygiene procedures.
- Is confident organising workloads and prioritising tasks.
- Can motivate and support colleagues to achieve high standards.
- Has good communication skills and is comfortable speaking with colleagues and managers.
- Is confident dealing with day-to-day issues and escalating concerns when required.
- Has good attention to detail and can identify when cleaning standards have not been achieved.
- Is comfortable completing and checking paperwork and hygiene records.
- Can work well under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Is reliable, organised and able to take responsibility for the team during the shift.
- Is comfortable working in a physically demanding environment and being on their feet throughout the shift.
- Is willing to be hands-on and support the team when required.
