How you’ll CREATE:
- Initiate, structure, negotiate and draft and review distribution, acquisition, label services, brand partnership and other related contracts, amendments, and related documents
- Negotiate and communicate deal terms with outside attorneys
- Maintain accurate, complete, and organized system of digital records
- Provide reports on contract terms, recoupment, etc. to executives and other senior staff members
- Route all agreements internally and externally via DocuSign
- Summarize legal issues and prepare reports for senior attorney review
- Trademark and copyright registration research
- Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met
- Communicate with accounting department to track and relay reporting delinquencies timely to licensees and legal as appropriate.
- Assist with invoice coding using Virgin’s internal systems
Bring your VIBE:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- BA/BS degree, JD, and member in good standing of the California state bar or California registered in-house counsel.
- Two to four years of experience practicing music law. In-house or law firm experience in entertainment law preferred

- Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts
- Familiarity with copyright and trademark laws
- Familiarity with brand licensing and royalty accounting procedures
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Extremely detail-oriented, with an ability to spot errors
- Familiarity with Apple computers and software, mastery of Word, Excel, and Preview/Adobe
- Can work independently with good judgment
- Solid research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Organizes own work, coordinating projects, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction
