The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is a Faculty of King’s College London and the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease.
 
The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) is one of three schools under the IoPPN, comprised of the four departments of Psychology, Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP), Health Service & Population Research (HSPR), and Biostatistics & Health Informatics (BHI). Our internationally renowned research encompasses developmental science across the lifespan and integrates basic research with the design, evaluation, and implementation of evidence‑based treatments, services, and policy.
 
This Lectureship is an exciting opportunity for an academic clinical psychologist with strong educational experience and wishes to develop their academic leadership to join the Department of Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London (IoPPN-KCL).  It is a part-time position based at the Denmark Hill Campus. You will join the Department of Psychology and be part of the DClinPsy training programme, and will be part of a vibrant academic department.

About the role:

This lectureship offers an exciting opportunity for an academic clinical psychologist seeking to develop their leadership in education and training, through the DClinPsy programme at the IoPPN, KCL. The post is a part-time (0.6 FTE) role to deputise for the Academic Director supporting the coordination and oversight of academic governance, teaching and assessment Quality Assurance (QA) processes, and communication with internal and external stakeholders thereby ensuring continuity of leadership and timely follow-up on actions arising from meetings.
 
When required you will represent the Academic Director at relevant programme, departmental, faculty, regulatory and QA meetings.
 
You will help develop and lead the programme’s Personal Tutor provision as a Senior Personal Tutor, embedding and aligning these processes within the programme team and with the wider KCL provision. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the broader work of programme delivery, including selection. There are opportunities to collaborate or work with colleagues within the Faculty to develop research interests through supervision of trainee projects, and project supervision of undergraduate or postgraduate taught programmes.
 
Mondays and Fridays are key days for teaching and assessment on the programme, and preferably the post holder would be available to work on both of these days, or as a minimum at least one of these two days.
 
The post holder will also be expected to contribute to other programmes in the Faculty, including undergraduate personal tutoring, teaching, or project supervision, as required.
 
This is a part time post (0.6 FTE) and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
