Vacancy Introduction

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role is Greggs, Enfield, EN3 7PL Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area

What you’ll do

  • Ensure the team adheres to all safe working practices and safety related policies and procedures, including Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, PPE, Permits to Work.
  • Support the Engineering Manager with the delivery of the Maintenance Strategy, ensuring detailed Maintenance PM’s and SOP’s are in place for all assets.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in developing the Engineering resource capability, ensuring a training plan is in place for all Engineers, identifying gaps in skill sets.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering department, setting out daily and weekly work plans for the team leaders, supporting with any recruitment needs, run regular KPI reports to identify any shortfalls in performance.
  • Manage systems and documentation to ensure legal compliance

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Are an outstanding problem solver, capable of identifying and rectifying the root cause of the issue with a permanent solution
  • Have experience of leading and coaching by example
  • Are IT literate with good level of competence in key Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Have a record of accomplishment of leading & improving safety within an Engineering function
  • Have a minimum 3 years management experience in a FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) or similar manufacturing business
  • Want to develop and are ready to work alongside some great people and have lots of fun on your Greggs journey!
  • Some UK or international travel may be required to visit suppliers or other sites therefore a full UK driving licence would be required for this role.
