You’ll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role. This is flexible and depends on meeting cycles and board activity. We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage a live caseload of technically complex repairs from initial diagnosis through to completion, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Investigate complex building defects, recurring issues and repeated repair failures, identifying underlying causes and specifying lasting solutions.
  • Manage insurance repairs, complex damp and water ingress, structural repairs, major drainage and excavation, groundworks, roofing and rainwater service repairs, cavity wall and insulation defects, and major aids and adaptations.
  • Visit properties to diagnose issues and prepare clear, measurable repair specifications, schedules of work and technical reports.
  • Prepare and review estimates, quotations, cost plans, Bills of Quantities and contract documentation.
  • Procure and directly manage contractors, monitoring progress, quality, health and safety, and compliance with agreed scope, budgets and timescales.
  • Carry out pre-start, work in progress and completion inspections, ensuring snagging and defects are resolved before final sign-off.
  • Manage variations, contractor valuations, interim payments and final accounts within delegated authority.
  • Challenge poor contractor performance and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Work closely with Surveying Administrators and colleagues to coordinate access and keep residents informed and supported.
  • Understand residents’ circumstances and support arrangements where disruptive repairs or temporary decants are required.
  • Manage tenant alteration requests and Party Wall enquiries, providing technical advice and coordinating specialist input where needed.
  • Provide clear advice to contractors and colleagues on technical, contractual and property matters.
  • Respond professionally to complaints and customer concerns, taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.
  • Keep accurate case records, inspection findings, financial information and progress updates within housing and property management systems.
  • Ensure works comply with relevant legislation, health and safety requirements and PA Housing policies.
  • Deliver value for money and identify opportunities to improve the management of complex repairs and resident satisfaction.
